Okay, I have an ipod and I've had it for almost 1 and a half years now and its a 3rd Generation and it has the retarded battery. So I have a 2 year warranty from Best Buy and instead of replacing it with an ipod, they just refund the money I spent on the ipod in store credit. The type of MP3 Player I'm looking for should have at least 20gig hard drive space as I have close to 5000 songs and I will also use it for transporting files back and forth from computers. I don't really want another ipod because the new 4th generations are ugly to me and I just didn't get good reliability from my iPod. I'm thinking about the iRiver H-320(or 230, I forget) but I heard the controls are really hard to get used to. Any suggestions? By the way I don't know where this post is suppose to go so I just put it here

you could have replaced your battery for $30, but with the plan from best buy, you got a good deal. if you liked the size of the ipod, not many players are going to live up to it. the iRiver H-320 is bigger and heavier, as are the creative hard drive players.

i personally like the ipods size and interface, but if you're looking for other features like fm, recording, and picture viewing, then there are better players

heres cnets best hard drive mp3 players.

how much money do you have to spend? did you get cash?

the zen touch is really nice, but creative's software sucks (i have a zen micro) as is the h320. i'd get the h320 though because it has a line-out, color screen, and a bunch of other really nice features.

The zen touch is not too bad interface wise but it's quite a bit larger than the ipod. I went to best buy tried out several before I decided on a 4g 20gig ipod, then I wen't to apple's site and ordered it with a 10% discount for being a university student.

I really couldn't care less if the ipod plays wma files as I put anything in VBR mp3, plus the itunes store isn't bad, as long as you know how to rip the copy protection off and convert to mp3.

Oh yea, unlike what a lot of people say, the ipod's battery is user replacable.

Thanks, But I'm just going to keep looking around. I have as much as 100 dollars extra in cash so i can get something like 400 dollars but I don't want to go over 350 if its possible but if I like it I will.
