Need New RAM

Well I am almost ready to buy my first new stick of RAM. I know I want a good Lat ram thats at least PC-4000. I want to stay in the 120-150 range with 150 kind of pushing it for 1 512 stick.
I am not very up to date on memory but here is some I was looking at, and make recomendations too :)

Those are what I have been looking at but I don't know good from bad besides company rep and lat so give some advice :)

Your K8V is not gonna be able to run @ DDR500 so buying any of the above choices would be fairly pointless unless you're getting a new mobo.

Out of the OCZs the only 2 optiosn are the top and bottom one. The bottom one is Samsung TCCD while the top is Hynix DT-D50. Either RAM is a fantastic option for your platform. I personally would get they Hynix. Sure it wont clock as high, but it has fewer compatability issues plus its cheaper

Well I know it would not support the PC-4000 but people (on these forums) have told me getting the higher the better because the system downclocks it and thus would be able to get lower lats and a better OC.

If you want to keep the K8V and you want low lats, any TCCD base memory should be fine. If you plan on doing some heavy OC'ing, a new motheboard paired with the 4000 EL or UTT based memory is what you want. Note that the UTT option is only to be considered if you plan on running 3.1+ vdimm.

every post here are from highly respectable, people, the hynix is a good ram, but if you really want performance, i believe that your should get the tccd version..... it will help you a lot...

Well I want to keep the K8V because hopefully this summer I will be building a new system. So I want a decent clock ut of this CPU and good performance overall so any recomendations on any TCCD ram sticks? Also is it even worth it for me to get PC-4000 would it be better to just ge PC-3200, I posted here a while back and everyone said get at least PC-4000 so thats what I was looking at. Thanks

That changes things...If you don't like messing with volts, the OCZ 4000EL or the Gskill LEs are the way to go. I even heard some very good things about the PDP XBL so you may want to look into that TCCD option as well. However, if you don't mind the volts, the hottest thing right now is the OCZ 4000VX (speed binned UTT).

Well does anyone know of any good sticks in my range with TCCD? If not I am going to go with the OCZ PC-4000 EL Gold Rev 2. because it is more in my price range. Will it get me a good overclock without hitting any walls? Thanks

the ocz ram you mentioned can usually do 270-280 and in some instances can be up there with tccd chips. it doesnt respond well to voltage, and is also found in kingmax pc4000. the only difference between the kingmax and the OCZ is the name and the fact that OCZ only uses the newest chip revision for hynix d5 which is the dt-d5 which is the best hynix chip for overclocking. for some cheaper pc4000 choices, check out patriot, which are 80 for a stick of 512mb and uses the hynix d43 chip. its slightly lower grade then the d5, but its similar in that fact that it doesnt respond to volts, and can get up to 260-70 rather easily
