I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this but I couldn't find any better place.

Anyways I am going to build a new computer I know some stuff about the hardware, I'm no where near "pro".

So I was making a list of parts on Tigerdirect and I have finally chosen everything that I think I need.

Here is my list, If you know how to improve the system while keeping it under 1500$(without removing 3d vision and the monitor) please make me a suggestion.

The problem is I don't know if all my parts that I have chosen can "fit" together. I don't want to order a part that wont fit in the mother board. So I'm asking if someone has free time can you check my list and tell me if everything is ok?

I'm going to use the computer for 3d gaming, I got games like halo2,css,cs1.6,audio surf. Would the system I have picked be enough to play them in 3d?

Thanks.

You shouldn't need to buy an extra Sata cable, so that will save you $9

CPU, MOBO, RAM- In that price range, there are better buys. You can actually pick up a Core i5 combo on Newegg for only a few $ more, and that is BRAND NEW architecture. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ubCategory=343&SortField=1&PageSize=10&Page=2 This would be vastly superior to a C2Q setup (which is a dying socket, no sense in investing in equipment that is on it's way out)

PSU - Not that all Ultra units are bad, but a lot of them are not the best of quality. Again, in that price range there are better buys. A Corsair 650 would be a really nice fit, and only cost you a few $ more, but it is far superior. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005 The power supply is the heart of your system... trust me when I say... do NOT skimp there.

Oh yeah... Welcome to OCF :welcome:

EDIT: Tigerdirect, is usually a little higher priced. I still order from them occasionally, though, as I get my components the next day (close proximity to a warehouse) Make sure you shop around for your components. Newegg usually has very nice COMBO deals.

Ok so I changed the mobo/core/psu/fan to these:

Intel Core i5 750 Processor - 2.66GHz, LGA 1156, 8MB L3 Cache, Quad-Core, Lynnfield, Retail

MSI P55-CD53 Motherboard - Intel P55, Socket LGA1156, Core i5

Corsair TX750W 750-Watt Power Supply - ATX, 140mm Fan, SLI-Ready, SATA-Ready, 80Plus

Cooler Master RR-910-HTX3-GP Hyper TX3 CPU Cooler - 92mm, LGA 1156, 775, AMD 754, 939, 940, AM2, AM3

Here is the list It only costs about 10$ more, but I'm not sure about the fan if it can keep the chip cool.

Personally, I'd drop the GTX275 for a 4890, to save about $50 and get the same performance. Invest that extra money in a good CPU cooler like a Megahalems or a TRUE.

Well I need the best GeForce card I can buy, the 3D GeForce Vison only works on GeForce cards. Is there a better GeForce card for around 250$?

And it absolutely has to be a GeForce card because this system is just for 3D gaming.

Ahhhh, I see. So you're sorta in a bind there. Personally, I've tried 3DVision, and don't find it that impressive for the money. I just cant get myself that involved in a game. Whether or not the action is "popping" out of the screen, I know that I'm still looking at just that: a screen.

you could always get a 260 core 16 and OC it.. should meet up the standards of 275 and still save money for a better heatsink for the cpu

If you live by a Micro Center you can save a lot on the CPU.

$159.99 for a Core i5 750!
This is one of the best burners you can buy now.
Samsung SH- S223b $30.99 I own one.

Maximum PC did a fastest disc ripper comparison test and the Lite-on iHAS 422 was the fastest.
Its not available at Newegg so I ordered the Lite-on iHAS224-06

I ripped a copy of Batman Begins with each drive and my Samsung was faster by 32 seconds.
I ran this test yesterday. Both drives are 16x read speed. I haven't tried a burn test yet.
The burner I have in my Computer is this one.

One of the all time best burners ever made.

The GTX 275 is a great pick. Beats the 4890 in almost every bench possible anyways.
