New sound card improving video performance?

I bought the Audigy X Gamer sound card today. I must admit, it is one heck of a card. Not only did it improve my sound a ton, but it also improved my video quality and overall system performance a ton too. Things seem to load faster, and video seems more crisp as well. It seems that my old sound card (Guillamet Muse) was making my system lag quite a bit. Games run more fluid, and the overall experience has improved. Have any of you had the same experience with high end sound cards vs. lower quality ones? This sound card rocks in my opinion!!!

Crap! I also have the Guillemot Maxisound Muse. I've been reading a few reviews & it seems that the card uses a lot of cpu power. About 3-4 times more cpu load compared to similar spec cards. Sigh

You probably would get the same results using no sound card since it wouldn't be using any cpu cycles. I'm not saying your card isnt good, I think it is a great card.

Yeah there's some sound solutions that can make your PC crawl, for instance, USB speakers, the CPU has to service the USB itself, no DMA.
