Well why not make my first post here a question right? :)
Ok, I just got my ST6, Celly 1.0a, and new Kinston PC133 256mb.
It runs perfect @10 @ 100fsb.(Normal) I have been reading a few forums and there seems to be a ton of people Ocing this setup but mine gives the "CPU is unworkable" even if I try 933Mhz @ 133fsb. (just to try and change something)
I know I have something wrong but I'm a little lost. Also, I can't seem to get to the clock freq.
My last setup was an Aopen AX6BC with a celly 566 @ 952 with no problems and I know it's just a matter of time before this one is screaming too.
Man, that's a lot of writing just to ask for any tips or hints. LOL
I would greatly appreciate it
Thanks and really nice forum

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS:p

well the 1.0A should do 133fsb out of the box to hit 1333 10x133...now, to have it running at 933 at 133 you would have to changer the multiplier...on all intel chips the multiplier is locked, and i dont know why you would try to underclock your cpu set the multplier to 10 then put the fsb @ 133 and then go up in little increments, thats a good chip you got there

I believe that you need to disable "Speed Error Hold" or something like that in the Soft Menu III. This will remove the CPU unworkable error.

How did you try 933@133? The celly is fixed at a 10x multiplier, so if you bumped your FSB to 133, well, you do the math. You can try to set the CPU speed to 933 all you want, it's still a 10x multiplier.
Wait, my mind came back. Did you try to set the CPU parameter to 933(133)? Won't work because of the locked multiplier. Anything you try will be based on the 10x. Try setting CPU parameter (I think) to "User Define" and then bump the FSB.

Wish I could give you more help, but it's 5:40AM right now and I NEED coffee.

Thanks for the replys,
What I was trying with the 933 thing was just to see if anything would change. (It didn't) On this board the the "Speed error hold" is off by default unless I have that confussed, which I may. Is that under the sme window as the CPU info, if so it's off. Is it best to turn off all SW1 switches? That's where there at now? I just got a message from my buddy in VA (I'm in Italy) and we have the same set up and he is on the 133fsb and the only difference is he has Crucial memory on cas3. I'll keep pluging away though.
Thanks again

Are you sure its really off as in, "Disabled." When people told me to turn it off, I thought it was off by default too.

Yea it was off but that wasn't the problem... (Get ready I'm about to look silly) After reading the manual for the 5th time I finally saw that it said "After choosing" user define on the "CPU Operation Speed"... and the rest is history.. I am now at 1.3G @ 133fsb right out of the box and everything seems to be great. (****st... when people get into a hurry and can't wait to tweak, it's never a good thing) LOL thanks for the posts because they helped me to re-read everything.
so now that I seem to be ok with that, I must say since I've been here (Italy) I have never got feedback so quick and I want to say thanks again to you and those that still sleeping the states that would have tried to help.
This forum is really cool and extreamly helpful.

Heheh were all here to help, I was pretty sure it was something small that you missed.

Try for 140fsb with like 1.6v.

What kind of cooling do you have? Be sure to get something good.

Well I just had to take it down a notch, I'm running it right out of the box and it locked after 97 min. I have the voltage at 1.6 and it seems steady (For now) at 1.15 but I do need something to really cool it with. I had the PEP66 set up on my last celly and it was awesome but a little loud for the wife. if you know of a good setup for this CPu that's not real loud I would love to know about it. I just feel better knowing that it will go up. I did turn it off for a while and opened the case was able to boot at 1.4G but that was about it and it didn't like it. 1.15G is good for now until I can cool this baby down. It's funny, I just built a system for a guy and he wanted his Celly OC @ 1.1G (It was a 900Mhz) and the first thing i did was choose user definr. So this is what they ment byt wait until your in your 30's... LOL

Wow way cool ,something I'll lock for. Just orded my st-6 abit and all ready have the 1.0A CHIP..Anyone using the sk-6 cooler on that combo? I read some where this chip goes like 1.5 Gz. pretty easy. Any body know if it will air cooled?

Air cool is fine. Something like a SK6 w/ a YSTech 30cfm fan will do it good, and quiet if your not too friendly with noise.

Bartron:

I'm confused, are you using the PEP or another socket cooler? The PEP maybe not cutting the job because, it was meant for slotket's and the fan will be facing to the left, and flat on the mobo and not getting other air in the case. If you have an exhaust fan there as well, it will be drawing air away from the HSF.

Yodums:
I'm using the stock setup, the PEP setup was my old system. I have it running @ 1.25 and all is well. That's good for now until I decide what setup I will get to cool it while keeping it as close to the noise level of the stock setup as possible.

if i were you i would get the Thermalright AX-7 for 30$ and a panaflo 80mm 24cfm fan it will keep your temps close to the case temps and be quiet as heck

No one has tested that with a slower fan but I presume you are correct. Maybe they have and if they have would you point me in the right driection to see the stats?

no i havent seen any benchies with that slow of a fan...but from the looks of that thing i could probably passively cool my cpu with good case cooling...the only benchie ive seen is on the fron page where it is .01C/W hotter than water water cooling with a Delta-80....

Also dont forget to use AS3 or some other type of thermal paste. A nice fat copper heatsink should work nicely then you can just add a lower CFM fan and your temps will probly go up a few degrees overall. Also make sure your RAM timing is set correctly

a quality 300W PSU is also recommended with plenty of case airflow. And have fun with your cele
