New Tbred w/ DLT3C?

I might have to get one of these. I'm getting sick of my 1700+ Tbred A that only overclocks to 1550. It posts at 1900 with 1.85v but is not stable with any amount of voltage above 1550. The only good thing about it is that it runs cool.

Get them while they last.. The local importer said AMD is discontinuing the xp1700's, and none of the shops here have these anymore. They had all received new cpu's, and they where DUT, as the previous xp1700's, just with a newer week. (09 and 10)

I can't quite figure out what this batch of cpu's was, it could be that this will be the direction for other higher clocked amd cpu's, or then it was just a test patch for the (low voltage) thorton core due out in the autoum. I had a hell of a job finding third one for my dually, as I managed to burn one of the two I had allready burnt, but luckily manged after calling through 18 shops... :)

Well, I just popped one of my two processors in, and tested it all day today. The highest speed I can select from the bios is 1800mhz, so I was seeing how small voltage it can run on at that speed. Here's the result:

ONLY 1.23V????

Starting to wonder if these 1.5v "L" chips are rejected mobile chips transfered to desktop usage.

Make any sense to you?

I know of a few people hitting 2.5ghz on air with the new version... damn.... I can justify a new mobo and new ram to oc a DLT3C... I'm getting 2211mhz out of my 1700+ ... I'll be completely satisfied with my current rig until the hammer line is released.

LBJGH,

i'm in the same boat using even older chipset Kt266a compared to your KT333. MY Shuttle AK31v3.1 and quite happy with how well it overclocks 1700+ T-bred. Got as high as 2465mhz at 2v. Running daily at 2212mhz @ 1.8v.

Ever since Via released the KT333 and KT400 I have been uninspired to upgrade my mainboard. Other than higher FSB there are no compelling reasons to upgrade. I have a 1.6v "U" 1700+ T-bred now but just ordered a 1.5v "L" and hoping to get at 2400mhz with lower volts. I use Volcano 9 at 3200rpm, modded powersupply fan with potentiometer to be silent and a quiet case fan blowing air in. My whole case is lined on the inside with cork fiber board. HD in silent enclosure. Very very quiet computer at 2200mhz.

Just like you I am waiting for some cheap Athlon64 cpu's and Mainboards for next Christmas. Until then I'll just keep buying cheap T-breds and have fun. Peace :)

Hello to all, been reading your findings nice info here.

I just wanted to ask a quick queston with reagrds to Prime95. Are you guys running it in the 'tortue test' mode or in 'benchmark' mode?

All this time in many forums I have never seen anyone mention this so I was just wondering.

Thanxs

Thought I'd pitch in my experiences - I've got a Tbred-B 1700+ JIUHB DLT3C VMPW. I've been burning it in for the past day or so. I also popped the first and second L3s to get a default 12.5 multi. Now I'm booting up at 166x12.5. Ran prime stable at that speed with 1.6v. I'm going to try to take it higher, but my cooling is somewhat limited right now - I'm using an SK-6+ with a Zalman 80mm fan on top, running at 2800rpm. It's keeping the chip at ~45C under load. I'm very pleased with the chip. I am peeved at my board, however... the drivers are being kind of b*tchy... so at 2075mhz/166FSB I get 10330 3dmarks. It should be higher than that. Whenever I had the multi at 11 and FSB at 182 I got10800 at stock. I was only getting 120mb/s more than with the FSB at 166, so I would think that the extra 70mhz would make up for that anyway. I have to figure out what the heck is going on here. This is getting annoying. BF1942 isn't running like it should. :( Anyway, the point is that I'm very pleased with my chip.

Edited for typos.

Hrmmm, i'd like to know what the chip is that was referred to in the very first post, since the link only leads to a "Product not Found" page.

If it's the JIUHB:0308RPMW that they seem to have removed from their stock list, then thank god. I read that Petrus at HardOCP got it to 2.5GHz on air, and a bit over 2.8GHz with Prometia so I ordered it right away. That was on Thursday lol. They shipped it out friday with an Abit NF7-S(hoping rev 2.0)

Yeah, they said it was 1.5v

Hmmm, my 0309 are 1.6v not 1.5
But according to the serial numbers it's a marked down 2800+

I wish I had my Chaintech back from RMA already! I'd like to see
what they can do!

That would make in a DUT... not a DLT. It does'nt mean it's bad, but will require more voltage to get high speeds. The nice bit about the DLT chips is that they overclock great with low voltage, still, they don't accept the high voltage, so in a way it's a trade in. I just got a third DLT3C chip, but won't be able to try it out before tomorrow.

Just picked up a DLt3c

Just picked up a DLT3C from overclockers.co.uk for all you brits out there..

Will post a benchmark out there when i get it bolted into my Asus A7n8x!

Anyone get the 0307VPMW "L" from ExcaliberPC in the last 7 days? Please comment on your findings

I am expecting one maybe Friday most probably early next week
and would love to hear all your honeymoon stories :)

well I got mine like 5 days ago and I'm chilling right now at 180x12.5 or 2.25 ghz @ 1.7 volts. this is on an ax-7 with as cheap low cfm fan, so I'm not complaining too much :) I had her up to 2.4 at 1.8/1.85ish but the hsf combo wasn't enough to keep her at acceptable levels. good luck!

Bought one last week, 0308RPMW.
Runs nicely at 2406Mhz, 1.75V on the 8RDA, SLK800 with low noise 80mm fan (Prime torture test for 14 hours)

I'm testing it right now at 1.90V, to see if this one really likes voltages or not. Because some say they had instant reboots when running Prime95 and had their voltage above 1.80-1.85V.
I hope it passes the night without a lockup.

Running Prime for 1 1/2 hour now, cpu temp is 47-48°C, case 22°C, room temp 19°C.
I'll try to post a screenshot tomorrow if everything goes well.
