My 8800 Ultra just bit the dust, at least I am pretty sure it did. I was thinking about upgrading anyway. I am trying to decide between the GTX 260, GTX 275 or GTX 285. I think I would prefer the price of the 260 or 275, but I am having a very hard time fininding a brand name 275 in stock.

My motherboard is PCIe but not 2.0. How much does that hurt me? How much better will the 275 perform for me over the 260? I have been out of the loop since I built this system 2 years ago. Also how much better are the 260/275/285 then the 8800 Ultra?

Cant go wrong with HD4890. Best bang for the buck now. GTX275 performace for less money.

Though if a GTX285 is in your budget, an HD5850 should be as well and spanks the 285 and HD4890.

I think this is in the wrong forum, but I do like the price of the 5850. Is it really as good as the gtx 285?? I switched to Nvdia for the 8800ultra, I had a 9800xt in my previous machine.

There will be a 5830 for around $240 in 2 weeks. That should prove to be a nice card at that price point if it uses the same memory bus as the 5850/70.

5850 definitely beats out a gtx285, but, I understand some peoples loves their physX :)
