Here's my system as it is right now:

P4 1.8 Northwood (retail heat sink)
Abit-TH7 II Raid
2* 256MB of Corsair RDRAM
Antec 400W power supply
Visiontek Geforce 3 TI 500
Soundblaster live 5.1 X-gamer
D-link NIC card

Can anyone tell me how to start the overclockin process? Will I need a better heatsink/colling system or is the retail good enough. When I look at the cpu temp in the bios, it is currently around 42*C. Any advice/ tips are appreciated. Thanks

I've read a lot of the posts on this forum so I've gotten a basic idea of what to do. But can anyone strictly tell me what you typically have to alter in the BIOS? Plus I'm not sure at what point I would need a better heatsink, etc.

Welcome to the forum. I generally recommend better cooling anytime you do anything more than just mild overclocking. Sounds like your temps are already a bit warm. Please consider reading some of the beginner and cooling articles found on the homepage. For specific info on how to overclock the TH7-II and what BIOS settings to start out messing with, check out the below listed link. Ignore the part where I tell him to set the FSB at 125 MHs. You have a 1.8 gig compared to his 1.6 gig and you don't have as good of cooling yet. You might initially want to limit your FSB setting to 110-112 MHz until you get your cooling up to par. Good luck.
