Looking to put together a cheap system, that has some kick to it :p

But I'm used to Intel CPUs and their scheme of labeling.

For Example (for those that don't know):
Let's take a Pentium 4 2.4ghz cpu. In general the C1 stepping chips are much better overclockers (as opposed to the B0 stepping). But then we can narrow it down even further and say the SL6RZ's are a better batch of overclockers (within the C1 stepping chips).

How does this apply to AMD? For an XP1700 what would these numbers represent: JIUHB:0310WPMX/XPMW ?

I think the JIUHB is the stepping, and the rest is the week # and the Batch #. Is this correct? But where does the DLT3C and the DUT3C and DKV3c and DKV4D fit into play?

Can someone show the order I should look at chips in, in general.

For instance, should I look for a DLT3C over a DUT3C. And then, within one category or the other, I should look for a JIUHB. And finally try for a XPMW. (The codes are off, but you get the idea.)

- Thanks a bunch. If all goes well, once this is built, you may just have another one swayed from the Intel side :p

DUT3C refers to the fact that the chip runs at 1.6v stock.

JIUHB is the stepping. If the stepping ends in a B, then it is thoroughbred B which are much better overclockers.

0310 refers to when the chip was made. Year - 03 Week - 10

Yes you should look for JIUHB first, then the week code, then the DUT3C, DLT3C etc...
