Here's my setup:

XP 1800 w/ Dragon Orb III 35C idle, 39-40C prime95 torture test
K7T 266 Pro2 (MS-6380)
512 Meg PC2100 (I think it's generic, I know, should have went brand name)
Gainward Geforce4 MX440
500W Cheapo Power Supply (Temporary, soon to be 400W AMD certified)

I tried OCing and the best stable FSB I could get was 136. That's pretty ****ty, I was hoping to surpass 1.6GHz at least. I know the RAM will hold me back, but my temps are surprisingly good for the infamous orbs (at least I think so).

I want to get it to the level of an XP 2000 if possible. Help me out!

bios stuff

Check the bios and see what you can do with the ram timings. If you cut the ram some slack by using less agressive timings, it migt help you get higher, also more voltage for the ram and cpu might help a bit. I don't know your bios though, so maybe someone with the same board can give you more specific advice.

I have that board as well, and the 3/4 RAM divider option is there. Try that, and if you still can't go past 136 FSB the it's not your RAM.

I would 1st fix the 3 things that are crippling you. Your RAM, ORB, and cheapo P/S and then see what can happen.

Well, my cheapo PSU was fixed. The crap supply was just a temp one cuz I didn't wanna wait for the good one before I built up my comp.

As for the temps and my orb, my temps are about the same as yours, TranceBear. At 1.85V it idles around 38C and full loads at 44, sometimes hit's 45 then back down. I notice my temps aren't too far off from many with higher end heatsinks, maybe I have a super orb or something?

I'm too broke to change the memory, but I messed around a bit, changed the BIOS to v3.2, and got up to 145 FSB stable (XP 2000 levels). I'm gonna toy around more when I get time and go for the 1.7GHz mark. I only need three more MHz on the FSB!

flash to bios 3.2 helped my overclocking venture greatly..
backdown your ram timings, and give it a go.. being generic Ram you might be stuck, but running at a relaxed timing might give it some room to overclock..
your temps look fine.. as long as your not hitting over 50c..
Just watch your temps if you do get it to overclock..
