newbie question :)

hey everyone.. im a big newbie to networking, and i read through the stickies, but i have a question/not sure about something. alright I have this and another computer in the house that are both connected to the internet together.. but i would like to network one to this one, which would not be connected to the internet. so my question is, would this process be the same as the first, "cheap, two computer, non upgradeable, no internet", connection with two NIC cards on the networking for newbies sticky? any help would be greatly appreciated

im not sure what your hoping to achieve. . . or if you have two or three computers. can you rephrase that?

heh sorry, i'm just tryin to network my other computer to this one, but not sure if this computer's being connected to the internet with another has anything to do with it..

1. What operating systems do each of the computers use.
2. How does your service come into your house? Cable modem and what kind?
3. Do you use a switch or router to connect your computers to your modem?
4. Have you joined both computers to the same workgroup?
5. Firewalls running, hardware or software?

A few of the basics before anyone can guess at the best way to network you. Good luck.
