Hello, I'm right about to begin my ventures into overclocking/cooling (read: newbie) and I just had a few questions...I've been doing a lot of research and I have decided to go with a water cooled system. I am going to build my system using the danger den A-MAZE-ing maze1 water block, and a maxi-jet inline water pump (I'm none to excited about reservoirs), hopefully 160gph. the radiator I'm still not sure of...any ideas where I can get a good radiator I can put in my case for now? I'm hoping to make this system entirely in-case without case mods. I am currently running a friends duron 750 (my T-Bird 1ghz still hasn't come in) on my new FIC AZ11-EA. This used to be a HP mid-tower system but I changed out the mobo recently (old one was garbage) and I am in need of a new case. I'm looking into buying an Antec SX-840. I've read lots of good reviews for this case and it looks pretty nice. So basically what I'm asking is am I on the right track with the parts? Also, where can I get a good radiator? Thanx

Hi and welcome to the forums....

if its your 1st go at overclocking i'd play around with an air cooled set up to start with..... i was gonna go with water for my 1st attempt.... but following the advice of the guys here i decided against it.

there is more to go wrong with water, and you will quite possibly mess up!! i almost melted my p3-450 through inexperience and p3's run cool! water will give you cooler temps, but good aircooling can almost match it... water only really comes into its own in my opinion when used with peltiers, but they are even more hassle......... condensation probs etc!

If you do go for water though, the DD products are great, i would go for a MAZE 2 as cool water goes directly over the CPU die, radiator wise, the DD cooling cube is supposed to be pretty good! reservoirs are a good idea as they increase the amount of water in the system and will give cooler temps. the pump you mentioned should be ok, check the ones on DD's website, they are pretty good from what i hear!
