my 2800+ is doing 2500mhz out of the box with no vcore increase (exept a little board overvolt) and would y go faster if my mobo (see sig) had a working pci/agp lock. Are these results typical? Are these the next XP-M's? Please just post your newcastle model and max OC. Maybe I just got lucky :)

very nice! This is the first 2800+ ive seen go so high. tell us, where did you get it from, and what was the stepping? was it a cg?

I got it from newegg with a chaintech sk8t800 for $213 (cheap combo). I thought only clawhammers had the cg stepping? maybe Im wrong, what code do I need to look for on the chip to tell if its cg?

where was that deal for the chaintech sk8t800 and 2800, couldnt find the combo..

NewCastles are all CGs. And you got one. If you still want to see the code, then look at the top line on the CPU and you'll see "AX" as the last two letters, those mean you have a NewCastle CG

First of all that is a NewCastle, and it seems to be an MPMW from the pic (like those super OCing XP-M 2600+). I think it will be an awesome overclocker! But you need a motherboard that can run mobile A64s, like the MSI K8N Neo

I dont think newegg has it anymore, It was a great deal while it lasted.

It's a newcastle look @ the screenie BLAH

I was refering to the screenie in the 1st post of this thread and if you have a ? about a certain cpu maybe you should start your own thread instead of thread crapping on someone elses.
