I am in TN and I understand that Newegg has opened a warehouse in this state. Therefore, my last order from them included sales tax. Can anyone suggest another online vendor that I can get good service from? Thanks.

I am curious why you would be so quick to abandon a known quality vendor just because of sales tax. For the quality of service, even the sales tax (what is it, 5% maybe?) would be worth the price of admission for me.

My $0.03 (tax included)

Well, tax is a big deal to me. My provincial and federal tax= 14.5%.

My government is too stupid too see that people have other options......like not spending money in canada!!!

For example I can buy in the U.S., have it sent to family and they will Fedex the package to me. Thus, I avoid ALL taxes and applicable duties (they send it to me as a gift).

I'm an Economics major. In some of my classes we look at how tax effects consumers and producers. Depending on the elasticity there is almost always a "Deadweight" loss.

Clearly its impossible to have a world without taxes (I tend to like roads and hospitals etc.) but its easy to see how peoples preferences change due to the change in taxes.

In conclusion......taxes suck:D

TN tax is 9.25% that makes a big difference on price. I love newegg, and will probably continue to buy from them. But there are few companies that would keep my business after jacking the price up almost 10%.

Plus for me I would rather burn my 9.25% than have it go to taxes but that is another topic ;)

I rememeber them raising the Taxes in Cali before I joined the AF back in 93. They were supposed to be an interm rate hike that would be cancelled in 2 years. But if the polititians want to keep something, and they really wanted to keep the hike, they kept quiet about it. After the 2 years was up they just renewed it. They kept renewing it untila couple years ago they made it permanent. Gotta love Cali but the politics and expenses suck. Its why I didn't go back.
