Where are you reading horror stories? I've always received my Corsair rebates when purchasing from Newegg, though they can take a while to arrive.

I think I'm going to jump on this, because I'm eventually planning on a Core i7 build, and my FSP AX500-A is getting limited with its connections. I doubt I'll find a better deal than this on a PSU anytime soon.
