Just finished coding up this:

FAH Log Parser 1.jpg

FAH Log Parser 1.5.jpg

It reads the [email protected] Log File, parses it, and gives some basic statistics.

Working on adding more statistics.

Also, working on a telnet interface.

Shoot me a PM if you want to help debug...or have ideas about features to add!

If you're like me...these thoughts might run through your head:

1. about 930 PM or so you are wondering how many points you are going to post...but the 900 PM updates haven't come...so you have to take the 600 PM updates (if they posted), add what has completed since 600 PM, add in what you think you'll get...etc.

2. how many PPD am I ACTUALLY getting from this card or this system...the PPD estimates are always all over the place...did this tweak I just made improve the PPD...etc.

3. core 0xyy, core 0xzz...does one give more PPD than the other? What's the variance on the PPD difference between the various cores?

I got tired of using my calculator - hehe - so I wrote this quick program...what a pain in the butt to deal with different time zones!

The only thing you don't get from the log file is the point estimate of the current work unit in progress (this is why I'll need the telnet interface.)

Also, when you restart the [email protected] app it blows away the log file (I can't find an option not to do that), so I have to put in a history saving feature into the program.

Basically...this is the "need" I wrote the program for (and it's fun - hehe!) I'm able to roll up all of my system data into one place. What sorts of data/visibility would you like to see in your folding systems that you don't have right now?

The program is written in C# (Visual Studio 2013)...if you want to help debug, I can post an install and/or source code on dropbox (or a better method???)

I personally have no idea how to code so I can't help there. I did take a Fortran class in the early 90's. However, I'd be happy to try it out and report back what I find.

Everything you post there seems very useful. That is awesome indeed.

One thing that many folders like is to be able to monitor multiple machines so you may want to add that in a later iteration.

You can already monitor multiple machines (the picture I posted is monitoring 2 systems...5 work units being processed). The biggest challenge with these sorts of things is to display enough data without the screen being "busy".

OK - this is program is in Windows only right now. To access, you have to be able to "share" the location of the log file. I know you can do this in Linux, but I don't know how.

I'll get together an installer and squirt you a PM with the link to download.

Ooooh I like it!!
Clean and simple. The advanced control is nice but it's a bit cluttered sometimes I find.

Something like this would be sweet

Here's a link to the installer:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/gtsoff722rxwrl8/FAH%20Log%20File%20Parser.zip?dl=0

I have tested the program on Windows 10 and Windows 7. Have tested with CPU folding, and NVIDIA GPU folding.

I have never tested the installer. It needs .Net 4.5 to run...I'm not sure if the installer is going to grab .Net 4.5.

Hit the "Add Log File" button. It will bring up file explorer box. The log file will be at something like:

\\users\Login Name\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\log.txt

The "users" folder will be on the drive that you installed the client on. It may be hidden, as well as the "AppData" folder.

Let me know any issues...enjoy!

Installed without issue!
Running fine right now, one thing I think it needs is the minimize button! :)

But I love the extra stats like production history, it's great!
Nice work! Will report any bugs here

EDIT:
Maybe it's just my log, but I wasn't around in 1900 :p
Something to maybe add later on would be the download/upload %?
Also, will the program report any errors like failed uploads and such? (Maybe add another window for errors underneath the log selection window?)

I hope I'm not being a hassle requesting all this stuff. I understand what coding is like and it's why I don't code.

Agreed. It installed without issue but does need the ability to minimize.

Working on that stuff! :D

1/1/1900 is the default time/date stamp I put on a WU until it actually starts computing...that one was probably an error in a WU.

Post your log file and I'll see what I can do.

I'll add a minimize box on the next release!

Holy cow...25-ish minutes to download a work unit...are you using a modem? :D

I now see why you want download status...I ignored this when I was originally writing as it always went pretty quick for me.

I'll see what I can do!

The joys of rural interwebz!!! :borg:

Thanks in advance if you get the download status working!
Loving the software thus far, great work man!!!

I just installed this on my laptop, but I can't figure out where the log.txt is on my Zorin systems to share so I can tracjk this.

The folders are probably hidden.

Go to the Windows file explorer, select the drive root folder, set the view options to show hidden files and folders, then select apply to all.

If you can't get this figured out let me know and I will post screenshots when I get home tonight.

Now that you mention it, I was wondering why I wasn't seeing my Windows primary rig. That fixed that. But I'm still wondering about my Zorin / Ubuntu Folders.

Thanks
