Hello, My question is are there any fans that are too powerful to connect to the cpu fan jumper? The reason I ask is that I wanted to install a thermaltake smart fan II and I read somewhere that it is too strong to use the cpu fan jumper, that it will burn it out. So I thought that I would ask the experts first. :) Thanks.

At lot of fans (Thermaltake included) will give a 4-pin molex connector to run the fan straight off the psu, and an extra 3-pin so that you can monitor speed. Better safe than sorry...I run all fans (cpu, 2 case fans, video card) straight off psu.

Many people use the smart fan 2 on that board. (not me personally) Its is rated at 12 volts, so you are fine. If it wasn't, thermaltake would not have put a 3-pin connector on it.
