I just read tom's hardware review/preview of the nVidia nForce mobo chipset, and well, i'm impressed. If it performs anywhere near how they predict that it will, well, wow, thats one hella system memory bandwidth!!!!
Surely overclocking with it will be a new experience, as the North Bridge - South Bridge architecture is pretty well revamped. Sounds like it could be easier to overclock, if done right by the board mfgr. So what do all the overclockers think of it?

Well i was going to get the abit KG7.
but since the Nforce chipset boards will be out about the end off the year .
i`ll wait for them.
lightning architecture.
upto 45% performance increase compared to the best DDR boards out at the moment....
what do u think????????
PLUS the onboard GF2,DD5.1 sound chip...
and only about $20 bucks more then other chipset boards......

will be waiting for it.....

GOD...

It sounds very promising. I think that all AMD users will be happy just to see an alternative to VIA. I personally don't have that anti-VIA sentiment but this will definitely help us (the consumer) when the competition heats up.

It looks promising indeed. I just bought a VIA KT 266 - DDR board (MSI 6380) to replace my VIA KT 133A SDram Board (MSI 6330 Turbo). It's a step up but I'm not impressed about the difference in performance, although Sisoft Sandra shows a 15% increase on Memory bandwidth. Let's wait for the benchmarks for the nforce chipset.

I can't say anything bad about via personally, but competition and variation are usually a good thing. I would prefer slower performance and bullet-proof stability over high speed and even slightly wonky.

Well if DDR does come to replace SDram, Im gonna miss but..I will wait a bit longer before I get any DDR board, Im gonna try out pc150memory on my KT7A,

Abd besides all my money is going for a vision tek geforce 3,

Als isnt there another chipset out? called Nforce mcp?

Edit* ok nm, It apperas it is a communications processor,Basic its for sound and broadband, I think?

Anyway it would be nice if they made a nforce sdram board just to see how it ran, or is that not possible?

The nforce architecture looks great!! It's like the DDR architecture, it looks great. However don't always believe all marketing. I do get an improvement with DDR, but not nearly as great as what the marketing would like you to believe. But then again I didn't pat that much extra either.

I think the nforce will kick a@#!! But early adopters will probably go through some pains. The idea of having the GPU in the northbridge is great, but most people already have an AGP card. As long as the price is right we should try it. I will have to wait till well into next year for new goodies. ALready blew my budget this year on new AThlon 1.33 system. Hopefulle next year I will get new Barton AMD chips with SOI and .13um. Then nforce chipset will be more mature and I will be able to get a system that rocks. Anyhow the system looks very good, it got all the right stuff in apart from GeForce3 in northbridge?? I will buy that!! No need for AGP anymore.

Take that Intel!!
