I am using the CMedia onboard sound. I installed Win2K and SP2 and updated Bios and 4in1's. Then I enabled the onboard sound jumper and installed the drivers off IWILL CD, then updated with latest drivers, but I can't hear anything. My device manager says its all there and installed properly and I even have the little "yellow speaker" on my task tray, so obviously its working properly. Yes, I have my speakers pulgged in and turned on. Yes, my volume is up (I can hear the speakers "hiss") and yes, the cables are all connected properly. Someone please help! I have everything running perfectly at this point and I even have ACPI disabled, USB working, and UDMA 100 kicking in my device manager - SWEET!!

Thanks guys!

dang! I finally got sound... Not sure what the deal is with the latest CMedia drivers (WDM 5.36 for Win2K) but I reinstalled the original drivers from IWILL CD and now its fine. Strangely, the device manager lists the audio device as "CMI8738/CD3X PCI Audio Device" whereas the WDM drivers were listed as "CM8738/CD3X PCI Audio Device". You may not see any difference, but the WDM drivers are missing an "I". Apparently, the WDM drivers didn't even work! Anyone notice this on theirs as well? Surely someone else has tried to use the latest WDM drivers, right? Can someone please attest to this and maybe provide some insight? I really don't care cuz its all working, but if you get some more enhancements or something from WDM drivers, then please inform me...

This sucks! Why do these things have to be so complicated? OK, fine, the sound is working, but when I play an MP3 file or something off the HDD its choppy. Any suggestions on how to remedy this? And no one seems to know anything aobut the WDM logo CMedia drivers in Win2K? I should have kept that damn SBLive! card... Please help KK266 owners!!
