My friends graphic card is overheating, so I take it out and replace the stock thermal compound with artic silver and put it back in. But when I turn it back on the monitor gets no signal.
It's not the card, it works fine in mine and its not the monitor. It's not the power supply or a power connection anywhere. I tried unplugging all external devices (cd rom, hard drive, etc.), with no go.
The only thing I can think of is the motherboard got hurt somewhere along the line. It turns on, and all devices get power, but I don't think that it is starting up as I purposly left the ram out but didn't get the beeps that would typically acoupany that. Any ideas as to what could have gone wrong? What may have I overlooked?
