When there is a power interruption and them the power comes back the ATX PSU doesn't resume. How to make it resume so the computer can restart and run unatended ? Don't want to buy an UPS.

Welcome to the forums, Kakao! I've recently been told I need to "personally touch" every new member. So I'm trying to do that without violating any international treaties. There's a whole bunch of smart people (and some of us not so smart ones, gotta keep it balanced!) who love imparting their knowledge. Ask, and ye shall recieve!

Well, if the power supply loses power, it'll shut down. Simple as that. Some BIOSes have a option to have the system start back up after a sudden loss of power. But unless you have this option, a UPS is your only choice.

Thank you.

My MB is a ECS K7S5A and I don't think it has that option. I will check it later.

What do you think about shorting the power switch jumper?
I know that when the power switch is pressed for some time it shuts down Windows 98 (I think this can be changed). Also shuts down DOS when it hangs.

May be you can help me here http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75737

Shutting down the computer by holding down the power switch is also a setting in the BIOS. Most have an option for either "immediate off" or "delay." It's usually a 4-6 second delay. That's just in case you do something boneheaded like forgetting where your CD-ROM is, and hitting the power switch instead of the CD-ROM eject switch. Used to be a problem on old AT power supplies.

As for how to mod it, I really don't think there would be a way. At least, not as far as I know. There may be someone here who's far smarter than me, and they might know. Just be patient, and I'm sure someone will answer.
