Alright,... I have said many times now. gForce FX 5700 is the most BULL****TING piece of **** graphics card I have ever used...

I try to OC the memory by 10Mhz,... it produces **** loads of artifacts in games... And often it rebooots my PC... or it would just flinker (black screen) when I surf the web like I am doing now. posting things on the forums and flinkers...

I so much wish I never bought this P.O.S....

Now onto the real business. I managed to get to 460/505 (default: 425/500) very stable. How else can I Overclock stablly this baby? (at least now it is my baby, because my other one is Geforce 4 Ti 4400 ).

It seems that card doesnt like to be overclocked. Why dont you use the TI4400?It is a faster card.Or do you need DX9 shaders?
Personally I would take the TI4400 over the FX5700.

There is no magic fix for what you are experiencing with that 5700.
Run it at stock speed?does that fix it? if not, return it or put the TI 4400 in there!

Oh yes my friend! it sure is.

By how much? Can you give a comparison on scores (3dmark, aqua) etc...?

And the Ti4400 is currently residing on my celeron 1.1A,... 512mb sdram, 20gig, should I swap it onto my new monster rig (spec in my signature), or should I just stay with GF FX5700 with a little more OC?

And why does FX 5700 cost a lot more than ti4400?

I dont have any links for you.A little google on your part can find exact scores but I would say on 3dmark 2k1, the TI4400 would beat the FX5700 by at least 3 thousand points.

what about dx 9? Now most games are made in dx 9... so ti4400 will be slower? And what about OpenGL? Ti4400 is better in OpenGL too? Is FX 5700 sort of like GF4 MX series????

also, is ti4400 a easier overclocker? How many pipelines does it have? FX 5700 has 4 i think...

The TI44000 doesnt support dx9.you can play dx9 games but it wont display the dx9 shaders.

1. Most games are not in dx9,in fact only a few are.
2.THe TI4400 is better at open gl than the 5700 also.
3.No the FX series is a totally different core design. It is not like the MX.
4.The TI4400 has four pipes as does the 5700.

Just because a graphics card doesnt overclock well doesn't mean its crap. Does it run OK at stock speeds? Have you checked that it has sufficient cooling.

I just dunno if I should swap the Ti4400 for the FX5700... is it worth the hassle? The stock speed of Ti4400 is 250/300 i think... and since they both have 4 pipelines, that means Ti4400 is slower than FX5700?

But the GeForce 4 Ti4400 GPU and the FX5700 GPU are different. Its like comparing a 2000MHz Pentium 4 to a 2000MHz AthlonXP. Same clock speed doesn't necessarily mean equal performance in every situation.

Well, the only reason I suggested he swap the card in the first place was because hes having a hellish time with it.

So to me,a working dx8 TI4400 that would be better at everything except AA/AF performance,is a better choice than a slower dx9 card that has big problems.

Ti4400 is faster than FX 5700?

Yep.

An old GeForce 3 Ti200 is faster than a 5700LE. It's a good replacement for an old TNT card or a GeForce 4 MX440, but nothing more.
