Hey peeps.
I was JUST about to check out my order today, got my cart all arranged and I see the message:

"the item you have in your cart in out of stock"
wtf!
I've been waiting to place this order for a week!! Bloody hell.
Now they are out of stock on it!

Anyhow heres the card I was gonna get:

connect3D Radeon X800GTO 3038 Video Card

Its $174 on newegg.com right now. I have the auto notify option done for it. So as soon as it comes in I'll be notifyed.

But do you guys know how long its gonna be till they get it back in stock?
Think the price will be the same?
I really wanna get this order done with. Its bs that I've waited, and done all this research into what I've wanted, and then blam--its out of stock! lol

Otherwise--who else is a good site to order from?
I'll still be getting everything else cpu/motherboard/ram e.t.c. from newegg.com
but the gpu sense its out of stock-and hell for all I know could be back in stock in like 2 ****ing weeks.
So ya--whats another good (and reilable site) to order the connect3D Radeon X800GTO 3038 Video Card from?

Hopefully someone can suggest a site asap. Cause I wanna place this order tonight and get it done and out of the way.

Good site. Good results. Go for it.

But, keep in mind, the chance of modding is nowhere near 100%.

well ya--I read up on that
Ya I guess the 3d connect cards aren't 100% gurentee that they will unlock to 16pipelines. The saphire version of this card is basically a 100% gurentee that it will unlock to 16pipelines.
Yet reading on this site, and all on newegg.coms reviews on this card (the 3dconnect version) so far it looks like a 90%chance that I can unlock it to 16pipelines.

The saphire one is just over my budget limit for now. Its $65 extra then the 3d connect version.
But I guess the sapphire card has a better core? And its a bit faster? Even when overclocked?

HA!!!
Guess what?
Just as I thought.
The gpu went out of stock-I've been monitering the gpu to see if anything would go on with price e.t.c.

Gueessss what?
While it was out of stock--newegg decided to raise the price! lol
So it went from $174 to now $183!!
And who knows if it will jump agian in price.

Maybe it is better for me to just jump on the sapphire version thats (now) a $56 difference. And who knows--the 3dconnect version might get another price jump for all I know. $56 isn't a big deal--I think I can do it.

lol! I keep forgetting that I have a savings and a checking bank account, been looking at the checking account--yet forgetting every 2 weeks $100s going into the savings. And this has been going on for quite a while now. lol (tells self "no wonder the checking account doesn't look that big")
So ya---I think I'm gonna jump on the sapphire X800gto2 (note the 2 ;)) 256mb pci-express card and unlock it to 16pipelines (which will basically a 100%gurentee unlock) plus the card has a faster 1.6ns memory then the 3dconnects of 2.0ns
and the Sapphire uses a guaranteed R480 core, while Connect3D uses only R423.

But if I get a email tonight in regards to the 3dconnect one coming back in stock-I'll jump on the deal for sure.

I'll probally be looking at $700 or so for the complete system instead of the expected $600 system I thought I would get. But $100 is nothing.

Yes, go for the GTO2, that way the only way those 4 pipelines won't be unlocked will be if you screw up... horribly. Plus Sapphire is probably the best manufacturer of ATI cards. (Btw, it's not the manufacturer that determines it, it's whether it's GTO or GTO2, and I think other companies might make the GTO2 but I'm not sure)

If Sapphire and Connect3D both have the same warranties, I think jumping on the Sapphire now is a good idea.

ya I've pretty much decided to opt for the Sapphire card from newegg.com

I'm not gonna bother with the extented warranty on it though. I'll hook everything up--and see if it works.
If say--the graphics card dies, I'll just do the 30 day replacment plan offered through newegg. (I'm glad they have a nice standard service plan).
7 days returned=full refund
or up to 30 day=replacment.
nice

but ya the Sapphire is probally what I'll opt for--its just a little bit more $
and basically a 100% gurentee that I can unlock it to 16 pipelines.
and I hear that the bios used to flash the 3dconnect version is now updated and doesn't work to flash the card to 16 pipelines anymore?

Only Sapphire makes it, it is there special version of it. It only comes in PCI-ex also and I think that 100% garantee would be better than it not happening and you not being happy, don't you?

^^ ya. Thats what I figured. And I guess the bios to flash the 3d connect card to 16pipelines doesn't exist anymore, or was updated or somthing.
I know I'll get guarnteed results from the sapphire one.
