Here comes the age old question....

Which, In the minds of all you gurus... do you believe to be the best course of action right now.

Buy a northwood system,
Buy a dual Athlon system,
Wait for a Clawhammer or dual clawhammer system and perfect my watercooling system for now.

Thanks,

The hammer's will take sometime.

My advice right now is wait for the better KT333 boards to come out, and then get a T-Bred. I'm just pondering if their going ot make a KT333a chip.

Excuse me Fanman,
but aren't comparable Northwood's & a dual XP's, the last one is for sure more stronger, it's a real Workstation! and on the market are coming out a lot of very powefull double XP Mobo's, like Abit for example

I thought he meant one! Personally its not worth it to buy dual unless its being really utilized.

Like I said, wait for the T-Bred which come out VERY SOON.

totally agree here. get the t-bred. You'll prolly never use the dullie to make it worth it and how can you say no to the T-BRED

Northwoods - IMHO Pentium4s are not worth the $£€. This is just my opinion - please dont start a flame war or Intel/AMD debate anyone.

Hammer - Very powerful, fast and I personally will be waiting to buy one (my 1100 tbird will tide me over till then :)). The truth is tho, they will probably not be out for at least 9 months. A bit too much of a wait if you need a new PC. They will also be VERY expensive.

Dual Athlons - The best decision IMHO. Dual AMD boards are just getting better - wait for the KT333 or KT333a chipset and get a pair of Thoroughbreds. Nice. Very nice :).

Prestonia Xeons are cheap. You can put a killer Xeon dually together for $300 to $500 more than the cost of an AMD dually. If you use an Iwill board, you will be able to plug in the 133 MHz FSB Xeons when they become available later in the year. Not only do Xeon duallies fly, they don't have some of the stability problems prevalent with the AMD systems. There are plenty of threads at 2CPU regarding this.

thnx for the site colin, ill put it to good use with my lack of knowledge concerning all aaspect of my computer other than the fact that it works;)
