Nostromo n52

Has anyone gotten one of these? Or its predecessor, the n50? I'm thinking about getting one, but am not sure if it will fall victim of novelty. I don't want to buy something that will just be tossed aside after a month.

Oh, and does anyone know where I could find these for cheapest? I know of one local store, its $36. Online, the cheapest I could find is Dell.com, but, resellerratings.com shows that Dell is a really bad company. Dell has it at $30.45.

I've seen them. I had a friend who tried to use it at a LAN party. Tried being the keyword. He couldn't keep up w/ the rest of us while using it.

He might just've not been used to it, however.

Personally, I think they look gimmic-y. I think you'd be better off saving your money.

I use it and think it's a pretty good device for FPS games(although I'm no where near as proficient as alot of you in gaming).
Haven't tried it in rpg's.

I have the N52 and had the N50 before it. I love it for FPSs and it works well on some RTS games as well. I would use it over the keyboard any day while playing games.

any gamepad with programmable buttons is better than a keyboard. you want be good with it right out the box but give yourself 2 weeks and you'll see an improvement.

i personally use the thrustmaster tacticalboard(probably over kill in some people's opinion)

I use the n50, and I'll never go back to a keyboard when playing games. It takes a bit getting used to, but once you do, it'll be second nature.

You can program every buttom you'd use in a FPS to your n50 or n52, and all of it without hand travel

yeah my n52 was supposed to arrive a day before christmas and it still isnt here!!!! grrr hopefully it will arrive in time for my lan party (2morrow). Though hoenstly i got it for max hopefully it will help alot in all the FPS we play.
