Hi mates!
I have evolved from air to water but I would like to try and improve cooling even more...
I heard of people putting their rigs in fridges =) So I wonder if it is possible? What would happen with all the hot spots? Freezer is a bit extreme but I guess perhaps fridge should be ok... What do you guys think ? Would it decrease my temps at all? Right now I have Waterchill installed and temps/overclock are terrible:

[email protected] 1,57 Vcore
42C idle and 59C when Folding

Anything higher and I lock up. No matter Vcore and no matter RAM or FSB :(

Thank you for your time!

Seeing as you already have a watercooling system have you just considered using the fridge to chill your water?

Yeah but Waterchiller hoses that I got with setup were barely enough to have pump and rad inside of my rig... So I can't really take them out. Other than that I don't think this pump would suffice and I looked forward to cool GPU and mo/bo as well =)

I think you should look into fixing up your water cooling system before you put your system in a fridge. I'm an all or nothing kind of guy, so I would say that you should either fix the water cooling system, or make a direct die cooler.

Anyway, evaporative coolers are an easy solution to high temps with watercooling, or a better radiator/shroud/fan setup. Also changing to a better waterblock or possibly upgrading your pump could help.

Thing is this is my 3rd w/c setup :( With various pumps ( Eheim 1048, 1250 ) to now Asetek one. I really don't have any more money to spend on this rig. ( new RAM + new PSU + new chipset cooler + 100000 fans that didn't help jack and I can't sell to anybody or use anywhere )

I'm tired of expenting miracles and than getting even worse performance than before ( when I changed from home build to Asetek one ) It is not much... 1-2 degrees C but enough to make me wanna throw everything out through a window.

I'm aware my chips is not good o/c-er and that only lower temps will get me anywhere so now I try to find something cheap and effective . So fridge got me going, but it looks that no one uses that and that you guys have moved on to better things.

Forgot to mention that I'm from Sweden and that mo/bo is Abit IC7
Thank you for your time!

well, then you should go for direct-die then! get a compressor, some capilary tube, an evaporator block, flexible hoses, a more compact condensor, and the necessary tools and your good to go. good luck! you might want to look for nunez's post on make a compact direct die system.

If you have a little money left over, u can run over to walmart get the 1.8 cubic ft fridge/freezer for 60.00$ then when u get it home unscrew the plate from the top of the fridge and drop that into a small trash can then insulate the trash can with some ez-foam or anything handy and let the fridge run. My water temps are around 10 degrees farienhiet and processor is about 12 c idle 18 c load and its a athlon xp 2000 running at 2.300 mhz. The water block i got at comp usa for $40 its a Koolance. But if you do something like that ur gonna have to find a way to make sure that block dont condensate i used ez-foam around it to make sure.

Or instead of buying something like that, find an old AC unit and disassemble it, then drop the evaporator in a reseivor, and insulate it. run it with methanol, so it doesnt freeze. Windshield (contains methanol) washer fluid is a good choice for coolant in a system like that. People can hit -25C easy with something like this.

you can always sell your fans on ebay, i mean someone will buy them for like 3 bucks and thats better than just letting them sitting there and lose value
