Hey OG welcome aboard. To answer your question yes a skylake i7 has the potential to outperform a haswell but it just means we need to be a little better. Don't count out your 5930 though that will still do well for XTU.

If the two CPUs are the same the newer one will win out (I'm not sure that even makes sense). My 5930 does do well, or did well in XTU, but the benchmark is such a finicky creature. I do believe as a team we should be more than capable of finishing on top. We'll just have to focus our efforts on everyone's strengths like we've done in the past.

I guess what I should have said is yes a newer processor will win in an Apple to Apple's comparison. But we just have to do a better job with our overclock and tuning of older equipment so it is an orange to Apple comparison.;)

Sorry it took me this long to get the first post updated. Life got in the way.

I have 2 sections in the first post now.

The first one is actual best scores for each stage that people have reported. Please try to let us know how your testing is doing so I can keep this up to date so everyone can have a target to aim for.

The second section is our current best hardware by stage. This is not to say that this equipment will give us our best scores just that it has the highest potential. This will also help with figuring out where everyone should focus there energy on trying to improve scores.

Hope this makes sense if not let me know and I will try to clarify.

There has been some interesting discussion on how to properly submit for stage #1. Check out the discussion at the below link before trying to submit for stage #1.

Hope this finds everyone well and having good luck with there testing. Please let me know what I can do to help facilitate this better for everyone.

Thanks

Thanks LRG5, I got the first post updated with this score.

I would say that looking at our current hardware for stage 2 you should feel free to submit for stage #2 with your 9590. I doubt anyone is gonna beat your scores there.

There is a couple tweaks to gain a couple hundred easy points with the program. I will look them up in the next few days and PM them to you.

Do you have any tweaks for HWBotprime LRG5? Like setting the java engine to high priority in TM

I can push a bit more out of the 8370, I wanna see what we can get a decent average to first.

Hey Tukr that is looking good. I added it to the first post.

With Lrg5 score and this one it would give us a team average of 4,604 points which would put us in this place and only behind forst place by 538 points. If we can get a third submission of at least 1613 points we can overtake the stage.

I think this is under my league now :( When I was a Novice we were still recruiting new members, so I didn't get a chance playing in it.

Good Runs so far guys

Maddmutt any help on the Nwbot Prime you can think of, I need 35 points.

Looking at your post on HWBot, this is what I would do first if you can't get another 100mhz out of the CPU :)

Rerun the test but this time drop your memory to 9-11-11-28 and see if this helps.
If you are feeling frisky with your memory, you can dial in 9-11-11-27 @ 1.675 or raise the row refresh from 46 to 47 or 48. This last can help lower the first 4 numbers

Well if we cannot get anything else rounded up before the end of the comp even 3000 it's better than a zero. Gecko with tukr's score and your 3000 it would land us on first place currently.
