Anyone else have blatant stablility issues with the last two driver releases, specifically with running dual monitors? I have been forced to fall back to old drivers twice now because of frequent freezing when seting up my dual monitors... grr... All of the older drivers are fine! Methinks that nVidia is losing it...

... . . .. . . . . .

I'm not using dual monitors (maybe I'll have to give it a try once i get a dvi-vga adapter), but I think the 53.03 drivers are great. On my Visiontek GF4 Ti 4400.

im loving my 53.03 WHQL'd. then again, i dont use dual monitors. and not just that, but the forceware drivers arent really made for the Ti cards, theyre mostly for the FX cards.

They are for every GeForce and TNT card thats been made...thats the point of a unified driver set ;)

I use a TV as another display works fine.
The 53.03 upgraded the nview display thing as well as a few other things.
The only problem i'm having is the crazy Beyond good and evil quality and playing issues. Which will hopefully be fixed soon.

All my nvidia cards are in linux boxes and most are using the 4496 release, one step back.
There have been numerous problems with the 5328 release for us linux users as well.

I was lucky (or smart...) and waited until they had been out for a bit before trying them. :) First iterations are often rough, especially when the company is trying to be the Biggest, Baddest of the bunch.

They may be rushing just a tad.......

If you want stable drivers, stick with slightly older ones; if you want to push the envelope and take the chance......install the newest as soon as you can!
(But don't be too surprised if you have a few problems.)

Yeah, that's what Im talking about. The new ones definately have issues with the dual view stuff. Otherwise, they seem all right.

I don't believe that there is optimizations in the 53.03. If you did see any site's talking about these "optimizations", please post the link and it will be an interesting article to read.

For WindowsXP, the drivers are absolutely fine. I have no problems with them, except running Halo. But I do believe that this might due to their hardware issue, rather than the drivers.

Never use linux before, so can't comment on that problem.

The 53.03 driver set is working fine on my GF3 .

Kenshiro ........... The 53.03 still has cheats/dubious optimisations in them , in particular the forcing of mixed bilinear and trilinear filtering when the user selects trilinear filtering . This is done to raise benchmark scores for the fx line with 'Trilinear filtering enabled ' , because it isn't really using trilinear filtering the fx card willl see a massive jump in fps . Of course this doesn't help the enduser and whereas before this 'feature' was only present in UT2003, in the 53.03 set it now occurs in every DirectX game !

I've heard of some people having punk buster incompatiability problems with I think 52.xx drivers...I just put the 53.03s on my machines and they are running fine though. No punk buster problems I've seen.

hmm.. I have 2 rigs each with dual monitors, one has a 5900 Ultra the other 5950ultra, and I don't have any problems at all. Both systems are running XP pro SP1

i suppose the new drivers don't agree with my card (Albatron 4200P) or maybe my mobo. I've reinstalled windows a few times too.

Im just irked, my hardware is holding its own with the new games (max payne at xga, all settings maxed and quincunx runs well! I was shocked! (-:), but I can't use the new drivers. They just freeze or reboot my comp whenever I change dualview settings.

What bugs me the most is that the nvidia uninstall utility, doesn't even frickin' uninstall them? I try to load the old ones and the new ones are right back there again...time to find detonator destroyer.
