the q6700 dosen't

plus not allot of programs and games support quad core. now if you were mainly a video editor or do allot of things like that then the quad core is the way to go.

if you are going to play crysis be sure that the video ram is at least 640mb being how thats the Recommended amount of video ram Crytek said that you would need. plus if you want to play with anti aliasing at 4x you will be using all the video ram that you have.

i would get that 8800gts with the 112 stream processors and 640mb of ram

Any of the C2D/C2Q's can use DDR3. It depends on the Mobo, not the CPU. You can easily OC any of the Quads to a 333FSB, so your argument is mute. Crysis is supposed to make use of more cores, so I would say going quad is your best bet. You can get 3.6GHz out of a Q6600, so no reason to spend extra on the Q6700.

Erm, if my memory serves me correctly: Intel chips do not have memory controllers in their core like the AMD chips do, instead it is up to the motherboard/NB to manage the memory. As long as the motherboard supports it, the C2Ds can use it.

Your memory does server you correctly. You win! :D :D

Intel C2D and C2Q do not have internal memory controllers. They are in the NorthBridge of the MB chipset.

It is AMD that likes to stuff the memory controllers in the CPU itself.
