Got this off of www.guru3d.com . Though I do not use it, it is a sad day.

NVmax is due to terminate at 25th March 2002, after which NVmax will be removed from nvmax.com and will not be supported. The last edition (4.01.00) will be made available for download on 16th March 2001. Source code will be released on 23th March 2002 under the GNU license as complete unrestricted freeware. nvmax.com reserves the right to change this decision at any time. Any party wishing to continue the project must do so under another name as NVmax is a trademark of nvmax.com and is copyrighted material inc. A.Charnley 1999-2001.

We would like to thank the author of RivaTuner for his assistance through some rough coding times and all the users. We would also like to thank all NVIDIA customers whom have been very supportive, unlike that big corporation that they buy chips from (although NVIDIA do support nvmax.com in a big way..)

The decision to end NVmax is final and will not be reversed. This decision was made by the author in order to divert time into a future project. Sadly, all good things come to an end.

:(

this sucks, i LOVE the newest verion, its awesome..
hopefully 4.1 will work good for a while till someone else makes a better oc tool.

Since it's going open source, somebody might just pick it up again. And that "future project" sounds tantalizing! So, everything is not so bad after all.

i am sure someone will pick it up. After all, it is an awesome tool and one of the best and in some people mine the absolute best. It will be sad to see it not being revised, but maybe someone else can take the prog to new levels:cool:

They do make note that Riva and the gfutility will continue on.

well it is just sad tool see such a great tool have to bit the dust... personally i use Riva but many times i have recommened nvmax and hold it in the highest regards;)

I wish the good folk at NVMAX every success in their next venture.

Releasing the source code to the other utility designers ensures an uninterrupted flow of the highest quality tools for NVidia cards.
