NVME ISSE

Hi there

Recently upgraded a system. Put a new NVME M2 (Samsung 980). Installed Windows 11, all worked OK. Few days later, replaced a HDD, with an SSD and it wouldn't boot. I re-installed everything and all OK again, except, it will only boot from the new SSD yet the OS is on the NVME, but it seems to have lost it's boot option.. I've seen cloning software. It's a bit strange all this. I'm average at tech. I can put these things together but this sort of thing baffles me. I've looked but it's almost like it's gone missing (the NVME boot). Any easy fixes?

Change it in your BIOS.

Well, you can try a repair install... but first make sure it didn't muck up your boot order.

Was there an OS on the SSD you installed?

First:

@Flamethrower1972 and @EarthDog might have the right idea. In the BIOS (even pre-built Dell, HP, etc.) you should have an option to change the first boot device in the BIOS/UEFI. Download and read the manual that came with your motherboard/computer and you should be able to make short work of it.
