I need to know how toO/C my AMD xp 1700+ on an asus A7A266 Mobo. i just downloaded the CPU monitor for temp as well as teh CPU cooling safety program but thats all i've done so far as O/C. Can anyone give me a few more steps and help me out? Thanks, also how high can i get on Thermaltake Dragon ORB A1134 Heat Sink & Cooling for AMD Atlon XP Duron as my fan.

you'll have to unlock the cpu first, then you can change the multiplier. as for the fan/heatsink, just watch the tems and see what happens, should be ok

Well I am running my 1700+ (which is 1.47ghz) at 1600mhz right now. I haven't unlocked the L1s yet and I am using AS2 compound along with an Aska Silver Mtn. I do not think highly of thermal take's products. I have never seen one that really does much for cooling.

Just keep your temps at or below 40ºC and you should be fine. I am running at 145mhz FSB without a problem.

Try getting as high up as you can without upping the Vcore that will keep your temps lower. Also if you board will allow it you can underclock the Vcore like I have done on mine and see how high you can push the FSB before you need to raise the Vcore that will allow the highest OC at the lowest temps.
