Hi!

Can anyone give their experiences on the OCZ PowerStream 520W PSU? OCZ claims it to be "Ultra Quiet", is it really? Big differences between load/idle dBA on the 80mm fan?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out.

[edit] It was on the 470W version, but I guess they're quite the same anyway, but the fan _could_ be different though. I'm looking for a powerful and really silent (not fanless though) PSU. 500W is quite minimum, as I have P4 [email protected], 4x 256MB BH-5, GeForce 6800 GT (oc'ed), 4x Harddisks and a 8X DVD-RW drive [/edit]

maybe a fortron 530w is right for you, cheap, reliable, and apparently not to loud at all.

I'll second the Fortron 530w - can't hear mine over the Aero 7 blower :)

my fortron was the loudest thing in my system. :-/ so it all depends on your tolerances and your other equipment

Do you know anyone in the forums who have a 520W OCZ PSU? Maybe Fortron 530W wouldn't be a bad idea either, but some of you thinks it's silent and some loud. :) Thanks for your answers so far.

All the OCZ Power Stream PSUs are rated to under 23 dBA (very quiet), and according to SilentPCReview's review of the 470, at least that model lives up to it's claim so I'd expect the 520 to be fairly silent as well.

they look quite sexy as well. ;)

would look pretty good in a shiny silver case. i also like the adjustable rails leds and such on the back. very clever. only question now is how they perform.
