Just as the title says, this thread will hold Kaby Lake processor overclocks for anyone that posts in this thread. The only requirement is a screenshot of the actual clock speed with whatever form of stability you claim also pictured. Please host here at the site. Stable means at least one hour of the following: Realbench, AIDA64, Prime 95 (any version), IBT, OCCT, etc. Benching stable does count, please add benching to the end of the yes.

I will keep track of these in the first post. Please make sure you have posted in the proper format so its easy for me to copy the results over to this post. The required format is as follows:

Name / CPU / CLOCKSPEED @ Voltage / Memory Speed + CAS / Mobo + BIOS version / Cooling / Stable?

Example: Earthdog / i7 7700K / 5 GHz @ 1.41V / 3866 MHz CL19 / MIXFormula 0301 / Custom Water / Yes

Happy overclocking!!!!

Here's mine from the review...

Agree. Can you rearrange them or break them up into separate pics so they don't get shrunk down so much?
No. The LAST thing I want is separate pics etc...I will get the full res up there soon enough. :)

Updated. The problem is that I have a 4K monitor so I stuffed the screen and now have to resize.

AVX2/FMA3 (Prime95 28.10) users are going to have much trouble getting the magic number with that heat even with better samples. Not bad at all for a gaming system though

If they are anywhere around 1.3V, 2x120mm AIO should be doable. Woomack is 1.27V at 5ghz. I think that's an above average result, but..worth mentioning at this point.

All you have to do is download the image like I did and you will get it in full size. Like I did. Right click/download image.

May I ask how many Dimms you used, one or two? And the rated speed of the memory? I'm just trying to get an idea of how much of a memory overclock one might be able to expect while still getting 5 GHz. I only have 3200 MHz ram but I will be putting a 7700k in my board real soon.

Not trying for 100% stability here but this one runs pretty well at 5.0 GHz. Cooling it with a single HW 360GTX Rad.

sticks are rated as you see it, 3866 CL 18. That is xmp profile and go. Except that I lowered the SA and IO voltages. The MSI boards puts them in at 1.4V (asus board is 1.3v). For my CPU and sticks (gskill trident z 2x8 gb) I only need 1.25/1.2V respectively for 3866. I raised that to 1.3/1.25 for 4k+ on these same sticks, not sure if I needed to raise those, just wanted to hit 4k. Not sure where I will top out.. Memory overclocking is not my forte, lol!

i7 7700K / 5 GHz @ 1.275V / 3200 MHz CL14 / MSI Z270 Carbon Pro Gaming 1.20 / Custom Water / Yes

sc1.jpg

On the screenshot is 1.264V, in BIOS is 1.250, LLC set to 3 what gives between 1.250-1.285V depends on used application.
1h AIDA64 + some other tests. Memory is 2x8GB TridentZ 3200 C14 / XMP settings.

also thanks for creating this thread, cleaning last 2 threads would be some work ;)

Please excuse the noob... I had already closed Prime when I read that I should slap all the benches in one pic. Prime95 failed at 1.3, so I jumped straight to 1.35, but perhaps something a little lower would work too.
Temps, judging by other results are crap, but somewhat to be expected from a cheapo AIO (Enermax Liqmax II 240 in push) in a mITX case...
One thing that is bothering me, perhaps more than it should, is Core#1 temp. It's almost like the damn bugger is sleeping.

Then there's the voltage issue, which isn't read correctly by HWMonitor... and the motherboard temps which just can't be right. :)

1.32V in BIOS, 1.33-1.35V under load, LLC 2
Memory @3866 17-17-17 1.35V. I can't make it run stable at 4000 on this board. Also can't run it at so tight timings as on ASRock OCF/MSI Z170I Gaming. I used to run this kit at 4200 18-18-18 1.35V or 4000 16-16-16 1.35V. I just wait for BIOS update as maybe it will help some.

I wonder what the i7 7700k will do for temp at 4.8Ghz with a air cooler?

All depends on used voltage. At ~1.15V you can use something as small as Cryorig C7 and at this voltage I could reach 4.7GHz on my 7700k. Max temps will be about 90*C if you run something like new Prime95. In games maybe something near high 60.
Good air cooler like Cryorig R1, higher Noctua or something like Scythe Ninja 4/Mugen 5 will let it run at ~5GHz ( it's about the same as popular 240 AIO ) and max below 90*C. It's about the same as Skylake just requires lower voltage so it's easier to overclock ( at least till 5GHz ).

I like those Kaby Lake chips! It definitely makes Sky Lake seem like a flop!

Looks like I may get myself a Z270 motherboard and a Kaby Lake!
