It's annoys me that they made the thing so long that it becomes hard to close. I got three of these today...can someone remind me how to turn off the messager?

won't it start itself everytime I run MSN messenger? I thought it would only happen w/ MSN messenger turned on, but last night, I went to sleep w/ MSN messenger turned off, and got 1 "diploma" popup on my window .. grrrr .. annoyingg!!

The "Messenger Service" is not connected at all to MSN messenger. The messenger service is commonly used by network administrators, and sometimes users to relay console messages around the network.

oh man I turned my router firewall off for 5 hours and had 3 of those popups come at me in that time period!!! god there annoying needles to say I read that post and got it to turn off

haha my school techs are so dumb, they still dont have that messanger turned off to our computers with dos on them

You can also use Pop-up Stopper or something like it to keep those things from taking over.

that is one solution, but it's just easier to disable the service.
I guess that would be a solution for people who use the console message service, and can't be disabling it.
