Ok folks, here we go with the "my MB doesn't play well with memory" dance.
This is my set-up for starters:
A64 3000+ w/ Zalman 7000al-cu HSF
1 512 stick of Corsair XMS 3200 C2PT
K8T Neo-FIS2R (Bios 1.1)
Seagate SATA 120GB HD
Radeon 7500 PCI (Saving clams for AIW 9600 pro)
Audiotek Prodigy7.1 soundcard
Antec Sonata case (with Antec 380W PSU)
Win2k Pro

For some reason I get lock-ups (not neccessarily when CPU is maxed) often when streaming video but not always (did it for the first time while using Opera browser a few hours ago) I had thought it was related to using Realplayer or win media9 but it hapens with every other media program I've tried (winamp, J river media center). I've now run over 48hours of Prime95 and Memtest with no errors at these overclocked numbers:

FSB:215 Mhz (Multi locked @10)
Vcore:1.6v
Mem timings: 2-3-3-6 @ 2.85v (highest setting avail on MB), Burst length=8, run at DDR 400 setting
Hypertransport link width (up, down):16bit, Frequency=800 Mhz

I've tried everything I can think of with the memory-relaxing the settings waaay down, Putting every thing on auto, dropping the memory speed from 400 to 333 (locked up even faster), reduced the fsb, trying a different slot, all with the same result. I even tried swapping the only other DDR (512 Corsair DDR) stick I had from my server, ran 12 hours of prime and memtest with no errors, but still locked up streaming video.

The files are not corrupt, as they stream no prob to other computers in the house.

I think my mother board doesn't like Corsair ram.

Now, of course no Corsair memory is on OK list for this MB (http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=496), That's my bad, but I've never had this trouble before, even with MSI boards and Corsair memory. Always a first time I guess.
:(
That being said, over half of the approved 512 MB ram on the list doesn't even seem to be available in this country, and the others that I have looked at seem to be only available from from a few vendors I haven't dealt with who only put the bare minimum info about the ram often not even including the manufacturer. I'm not comfortable shelling out $100+ for an unknown stick of memory, esp. with halfway decent overclocking in mind (15-20Mhz FSB).

So, what are you MSI K8T Neo owners using for Memory? I'd rather go with your suggestions than rely on a vendor who only wants my$$$.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
D
