old cards new slots

i would like to know if i can run my old 2x or 4x agp cards in a new 8x slots

You can run 4x but not 2x.

that would be the worst idea ever...seeing as how prolly less than 1% of the computer population has an 8x card...

all agp slots are backwards compatible...period...
