old mobo - new cpu question

i know this is not exactly a o/c type of question, but i figured someone here would have an answer for this.

i have a abit bx 133 raid mother board with a pIII 1ghz (133fsb/256cache). i am contemplating on upgrading the chip to a pIII 1.4ghz (133fsb/512cache). i don't want to upgrade the motherboard so will the bx133 raid properly work with the pIII 1.4ghz chip? i would look up the specs in the mobo user manual, but i lost it.

p.s. what advantage/disadvantage does the 512 cache have over a 256 cache chip?

None of the old BX chipset mobos will support the Tualatin CPUs without an adapter or some sort of mod. I think Powerleap makes an adapter. If that mobo is a socket 370, then I don't think the mod will work for you (which is generally done with a slotket).
