Ok here is the deal ,I bought a 60 gig 7200 RPM ATA133 Maxtor drive, just for the heck of it I ran Sandra on it to see how it benched and I was shocked.Does anyone have benchmarks of a real ATA133 setup,if so please post a pic ,this os on a Shuttle ak31 rev 3 board ,and the Drive only runs around 90-96 F ,not to bad for a 7200 rpm drive I dont think.

Not really sure what you want to know? First of all Sandra's HD benching really sucks, use HDTach 2.61. Obviously the drive is running at ATA100 since the AK31 does not support ATA133. That being said, you could get the promise ATA133 controller and plug it into a PCI slot and then you would get true ATA133, however, your speed increase will be minimal.

Remember on the AK-31 that drive is running ATA100, not 133! Second the diff between the 2 is very small! You can look at this thread too, I did a test between an ATA100 and an ATA133 Raid card.

Absolutely right, there is not much of a gain in performance between the two, the only difference maybe getting a WD drive which has the 8mb buffer.
