old PSU to run fans? help..

Hi, I have an older 200w PSU that I want to use to power fans, I am doing this as a test to see if my fans are screwing with my ablility to overclock..
I need to know how I can get the PSU to start without being connected to a motherboard, this PSU is the one that has TWO connectors to the motherboard 6 wires across each.. Can't remember what that type of connector is called..
any ideas.

That sounds like an AT connector. Does it have a black cable for a power switch?

Yep has a black cable for the power switch..

Get yourself a DPST (120VAC)switch at Radio Shack or your local electronics store, hook it to the cable, and you should be able to fire up the PSU. You might have to play with orientation a little to get the wiring right.

i have the same thing i run 8 fans off a seperate psu unit, i jumped the pins on the mobo cable and created a switch with it so i could fire up the 2nd psu without having a mobo connected to it....its easy
