i loved all the guides for powering an older ATX PSU with no M/B, but how do we do it on older PSU's?? [non ATX, like 486's... lol]

please be in detail, and not a lot of solidering or anything, cause i am a power n00b, by far..

so try to go slow, and in detail plz! :-D

thanks..

You just have to suck enough current for them to start up, try just putting any old harddrive on a drive power connector, that usually works. No IDE cable or anything, just the drive.

i have a harddrive, a floppy drive, and a little 60mm fan on it.. and the psu has a fan in the back of it as well...

its still not doing much.. all i hear is a little buzz from inside.. lol

when i had this problem with my ATX, at least the fans would move SOME at first.. i just had to add more things to it like this one.. but this isnt even moving either of the fans at all...

add more??

another idea??

are the older ones called AT PSU's??

cause i can try and find other info on it on the web if it is..
i just wanted to varify it..

Oh you probably have to raise the ower good line to 5v then, many PSUs only implement this when pulled low, forgotten which wire it is, be back later when I find the pinout.

Yes, they are called AT.
