Quick question:

Do you like the One-Click as it is now with one .exe file, but you have to edit the client.cfg with the shortcut that is provided.

or...

Would you like me to make one that has two files, the .exe and the client.cfg, that you could edit before you install FAH. This would also eliminate any hassels with people who you email the installer to which are not very tech savvy.

Vote now!

*edit* wording....

How hard would it by to send us all the files so that we could fix our own config once and then make a single .exe ourselves ?

That is a viable solution however, the goal of the One-Click is to be the easiest way possible to install FAH Beta, set it up as a service, and install all the appropriate flags.

So for right now, I'm just fishing for an opinion on whether or not I should make another version which leaves the client.cfg outside of the .exe thereby enabling the user to edit it prior and send the package to friends and family...

Second option sounds best to me one extra file is no bother and it far easier than explaining the install procedure to people.

Option two for me. The ppl I know have very little comp skills. Hell most of call me to ask how to view an attachment. Then I have to try to explain install and config. sheesh its a nightmare.

This is great, thanks for the input. However, everyone realizes that all you have to do to edit the client.cfg is click the shortcut and change "YourName" to your name, right? The shortcut is created when you click the .exe file, then you save and you're done...

Just checking...

Wedo,
Thank you for the coustom one-click!

I will have to agree with most here and say I would normally prefer the 2 file version. Why? Because, you only have to edit the file one time and then you can go to town borging the world.

The new 1 file .exe one-click forces you to remember to change each and every borg unless you have a custom one. Really slows ya down when your trying to borg a computer lab...quickly;)

no kidding, thanks for the custom jobby wedo!

Either way your one-click is great, but I think that I'd prefer to edit the config file before deploying. This way I can set it up once and not have to mess with it again.

2nd choice, it's alot quicker than having to double click a shortcut to edit your client.cfg everytime.

BTW: My school just got an upgrade on their computers, but I haven't had a chance to see what's in them. I know they are all at least AMD 2600+ or Intel 2.5Ghz (that's the lowest speed for the models). I'll wait until they get them setup before I ask the admin if they can fold.

Ok, the vote is in and done.... I'll work on the two file versions this week and get them out ASAP. We'll call this One-Click 2.0 :D.

I prefer having 2 files. I can edit the config file in the zip and throw it up on my webserver and go to any computer with internet access and borg it instantly. Thanks Wedo

god was i confused.... lol..

got to the bottom of the thread and the last post was 12-20-03 and i was wondering what in the world was going on in the thread. lol.

dumb poll!! gotta get an admin to change it so votes don't bump polls. :D
