Probably one of the most un-unique question is:

"What is you're opinion of the best motherboard out on the market right now?"

hehe, this happens to be my question too. What IS the best motherboard out there right now? Does Asus hold true to a good name still? Abit worked out bugs I've heard from older cards? What exactly should a person get for maximum performance and best value...

You're input is greatly appreciated. : )

I like my ASUS A7V133, hasn't let me down. I like every ASUS board I have ever owned though. I keep hearing people jawing about the Iwill KK266 motherboard which is supposed to be the cats ***, and I think it also supports overclocking the heck out of system memory as well.

I guess the real question here is, is being the cat's *** that good? ;-)

As far as the kt133a chipset goes, I think about the best overclocking mobo you can find is the Iwill KK266. I love mine! Its easy to overclock and very stable.

cat's A**=GOOD

But the A7V series have power supplies on them that are inferior to those on boards manufactured by the likes of Shuttle. ASUS are selling tat at inflated prices when compared to the competition.

I have to agree it is probably the best implementation of the 8363a

I'm not great, nor masterful, but I did do a little research, and I don't think the GA-7DXR should be dismissed. Reports indicate FSB and Multiplier changable, very stable, lots of options, @BioS Windows-based BIOS update, EasyTune3 Windows-based FSB overclocking (Multiplier changed via dipswitches), and more places to plug stuff in than you can shake a sequoia at (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 2 ATA100, 2 RAID (also serve as extra IDE), 3 1GB-max DDR slots). That's what I'll be getting. Expensive, though.

....but no real overclockers use Gigabyte - they are that bad. They are crap motherboards. You gotta be thinkin ABit, ASUS, MSI, EPoX, Iwill and Soyo - just forget Gigabyte - they are only stable if not overclocked

Gigabyte in general. The people that released a socket A board based on Irongate because they wanted to make a quick buck and rip off the consumer.

The company that sells Jetway classed boards at MSI prices. Junk with nice manuals - that's all.

Did you know that of the top ten board manufacturers, the percentage of boards that they have RMA'd is the highest of all ten. I am very educated on the subject from a professional perspective. Their reputation is worse than that of even ASUS.

No kidding. I don't know they had so many RMA's. I'v never had a problem with the two gigabytes that i'v gotten nor have any of the people I know. If that's the truth though I will stop recomending them to people. It may also be the case that they have cleaned up and are now making good boards, all I can say for sure is that the one I got is a great board for what I do with it.

They have made a lot of marketing changes in the past 6 months and have made some improvements, but I think that they still have a long time to go.

Let's see how well they do ...........
