my bad, you are right. however, the retail 146 is still up there at 223. i may place an order later on today and see what happens.

I don't think it is, even in the combos it's like $133 for a 146. NewEgg's Opteron prices are just way out of wack. AMD's prices are going to have be falling pretty substantially very soon if they haven't already across the board.

If AMD did drop the prices on the Opterons how come no other retailer has lowered their prices? Either Monarch knows something about the price cuts that we don't, or they don't want to get stuck with chips they can't sell.

Monarch had the Opteron 165 for $260.97 before shipping about a week ago, not quite sure why they have these random price jumps. Monarch has the Opteron 148 for almost $260 for OEM, except retail 148 is $176.
