I ordered a 2.4C, but when i opened the FedEx box today I got a suprise. It seems that I lucked into a 2.6C instead!

I've got an IC7 and 2) 256mb HyperX PC3500 sticks on the way. Hopefully the 2.6 will like the IC7, and vice versa.

Just had to share the joy...

i dont mean to rain down on your parade, as that is good luck and all....

but if you plan to overclock it, wouldnt the 2.4 be a better CPU?
so you might want to look at selling the 2.6, make a few bucks and get another 2.4

umm, no. all the new 800 chips seem to be oc'ing very well. if affordable, it is good to get the 3.0c. the 2.4c is a good oc'er, but then again, all the chips are. i have seen a 2.8c at 4.3.

Sorry for the lack of replies... I'm on dial-up on a temporary basis as all this upgrading is due to a lightning strike.

I ordered it from techmole (thanks for whomever posted that site on here) and shipped it was 198. I don't know what happened, but one thing's for sure, they're reseller rating is about to get a boost from me. :)

I do have a question about the board, tho... Would I be better served to keep the IC7 (arriving Tuesday) or to return it and get the ASUS P4C800?

Thanks for the replies, guys....

The 2.6C will be perfect with the IC7. Seems like lots of the IC7 don't like FSB above 275 MHz, which hampers the 2.4C a little, but it should work just fine with the 2.6C.

Lucky you.... just to remind you in case the shop call back, you will said "yeah... it's a pentium4 2.4 allright.... Sorry, I have to go to the gate now..... my flight is another 10 minutes" :D

I have this lucky experience too when I ordered three dynamo motors ( for R/C cars) for $24 each..... instead I received R/C cars' engines worth of $249 each X 3 = $747. Not bad huh ??...... So I called back the shop on the next day to order 1 engine R/C car.

A week later I received the car with the three dynamo motors and $15 coupons as "sorry letter" for their incompetence to send the three dynamos above on time. Nevertheless I actually end-up spending thousands of dollars with the shop. The only lucky time was just then near christmas.

How about that?? .... you wish you get 3 P4 ??

What he ^^^^ said :)

Yeah, what they said... I could use as much preplanning info as possible. Looks like everything else will be here Monday.

Maybe Googlegear will mess up and send me an IC7-G instead of the non-G ;)

That would be sweet! :)

Well, it's about that time....
