it is probably old news to those that have been Folding for awhile, but i can't help but notice our team's per CPU work output crushing all others'.
OCAU has been bragging in our forum, but they have more than 2x the active CPUs we do.
we should keep overclocking to the maxx all the CPUs we can [and have them Fold 24/7] and show the other teams who has the real elite hardware.

I agree.. and i noticed something else too.. the active members here are EXTREMELY active and pull a lot of weight.. They do more with less.. I go to other sites and see what they talk about and the information that is passed back and forth... Here is the place to go if you want to find true , hardcore, O/C fanatics... Im not even one of the fastest here and i was checking my times for GNRA hairpin i was coming in at 221 sec/frame which is 7th on ocau's list of fastest folders... i get the feeling that here that is good but from what ive seen.. it barely even notable :).. We dont have a lot of members here.. But I believe we have the BEST group around... A few good men will always be better than many of the norm
Here's to O/C.commers

that is just it. we overclock and i think we can rightly pride ourselves on our abilities to do just that. And that leads to those awesome frame times even with the monster WU's. They can brag about totals, we can brag about totals from awesome systems.

The active cpu's should really be called active userid's. We actually have less cpu's than the ones listed on tha stats.

The reason is australia has very limited broardband options. Many cannot afford the $100 ($50us) a month for adsl which gives you a lousy 3gig limit. Yes both down and uploads! And many people who want to get the overpriced crap can't due to limited infastructure. Cable is only available in the 3 biggest cities and statilite is way expensive.

The means about 50% of our 590 active members are on dial up modems. few isps have unlimited dailup deals so many people have no net for heaps of the time. And its not like we can use dial-on demand to get f@h units since every local phonecall costs 22cents.

This leads people to run anwhere form 2-10 copies of the client at one time so they only need to connect to the net once every day or 2. Lets say we have a guy with 1 atlhonXP and on dialup. Because he is running 5 consoles it shows his active cpu's to be 5 when in reality it is 1.

So i hope that explains why ocau has many active processors. It because we are way behind in technology :(....... If only i could patch into a kangaroo and network the cows. :D

cheers

Krazy Folding B@stard! i like that. thanks walaka7. your rigs are not too shabby! 1750 is DEFINITELY "cooking with gas." i'm gonna get krazy and ultimately pimp out my 1gig 'cause i know it can hit 1.7 with some voltmod and watercooling action! (hopefully anyway) we shall see.

It also helps to keep you up and running when there is a server outage. :)
