i have an amd xp mobile 2600+ on an asus a7n8xe-deluxe mb.....................my initial oc was 211 x 12 at 1.75 v..........at the time i had 2 x 512 mb ocz gold series ram running at 211mhz , 2.5-3-2-11 timings 2.8v..................everything was fine, it booted , no memtest errors , no bsod etc......................after about 2 months it stopped cold booting, i had to lower it to 207 mhz to get it to cold boot..........................then about a month later(last week) one stick failed, then yest i had to lower it to 205 mhz in order for it to cold boot.........i got 2 new sticks rma'd to me , they tested fine , and in about 2 hours tested bad, yet the original stick ive had for 3 months still tests fine....................any opinions on wtf is going on here?........................

My AMD XP Mobile has also had it's overclockability decreased over time. Over the summer I ran it at a lower voltage and lower clockspeed because of temps and since then I have not been able to get back to where I was. FSB does not seem to want to go as high. I just set the FSB at 200 from 240 and raised the multi and everything was fine again.

aha, perhaps the ram issue is just bad luck and unrelated, so you lowered the fsb and raised the multi to get back where you were? yeah , i watch my temps, 55c is about as high as i think id like to see it, ive seen it as high as 52c, but this doesnt seem related to temp, is this a common problem with this cpu?

well, at 202 x 12.5 i get bsod....................so i guess 205 x 12 ill have to live with , im just wondering why it keeps dropping , i guess 2.46g isnt that bad..................but i started with 2.53
