welcome to the forums!

It sounds like you are new to overclocking, so I;m going to just give you some general help right now. Tthere are several other posts about the capabilities and settings for the e6300, so I would recommend taking your time and reading through as many posts as you can. The stickies at the top of the topic list have great information in them , too, so make sure you read them too. You have a pretty typical setup, judging by the motherboard and processor, so you should be able to get a decent overclock, as long as your memory and power supply are up to it.

Again, take your time looking thru the forum, look for "conroe results" threads, and use the search function at the top of the page to help narrow things down.

here's some starter guides online:

you'll want an aftermarket cpu cooler of some kind if you want a decent overclock.

i do have a decent aftermarket cpu cooler... a zalman ultra quiet cnps8000... hopefully that should help... i know the very basics, but i just need to know the technical stuff... i don't remember what brand my power supply is, but i know it's a reliable 600w...

do you have a link to the ram you bought as the speed and timings. as the ram could possibly limit your oc.
