overclocking a Geforce3 Ti200

i got an msi ti200 128meg card. i can only do 487 on the ram...does anyone know why...could it be that i need a side cooler, i am going to be adding that next week. but i was just wondering.

the 128MB cards don't overclock as good as the 64MB cards. the reason is they use higher quality ram for the 64MB cards, they use slightly cheaper ram for the 128 to keep the price down.

(for the record i don't have a GF3, i'm just going by what i have read in other threads on this forum)

why is the undone guy getting way better scores than i am?

go into your drivers and look at the things that you dont know what they do.

than do forum searches for what they are. you need to learn a lot more about the vid card and settings before you even start worrying about overclocking it.
luckily, all the info u need x1000 is floating around the forums.
u just need to search for it

try taking the ram down? I notice a performance increase when i take the ram down a little. Do you have 7200rpm hard drives? that helped me out when i switched.

you think it would be heat causing my system to crash if i take the ram over 485mhz? They have heatsinks on them but they're stock.

And upping the core on this card doesnt do too much, i'm going to wait for my P4 2.53 to come in the mail~

undone i got the same pc that you have what do you have for a mobo??? got the gf3 visiontek 200x460 3d marks at 5348
ok now i move my fsb up to 140 v card to 240x 530 3d marks 6780 can you go up on the fsb?? iv had 3d marks of 7112

bknight the stock speed for th Ti200 is 175 core 400 memory.
Punkmasterflick have you got vsync or anti aliasing enalled as i have a similar setup to you and i was getting 6600 points at stock speeds. You should only be about 100 points behind me as you have a 1700 against my 1900.
I benchmarked me system last night and got 8724points (240/550) dets 30.82 cpu@1764

AA and vsync are bad for benching. shut them both off and you should score higher
