Hey guys. Its been a while since i posted, and I rarely venture over ti the Intel side. Up untill now I have only had AMD rigs. I just wanted to share my OC with you guys, After a sorely needed upgrade.

Back story.

O.k. a little history. I built my mate a rig about 3-4 years ago. (cant remember how long precisely.)

Asus P5B Deluxe Wifi
E4300
2GB GieL orange RAM
8800GTS 320.
FSP bluestorm 500W or so PSU.

I got the MoBo with the intention of someday overclocking the hell out of it. I never really got time when my mate owned it. and he only had the stock cooler. :/

So, about a month ago I get a txt saying its time to build a new PC. he posts me the spec. Asus Sabretooth. (Real nice board) I7950 GTX460. 6GB RAM Super Talent chrome. And asked me to put it together. And I get the old 775 stuff. :D

I oredered a thermalright 120Extreme rev.c and a 600W antec truepower bronze as he was keeping the PSU, and there is no way I'm using that poxy cooler. I also got a GTX 260 a while back for £60, forgot about that bit.

The rig is as stands
Asus P5B Deluxe
E4300
2GB GIEL RAM
GTX260
Antec Trupower 600W
thermalright 120 Ex.
250gb seagate 7200.12
Coarsar Centuronn 532 case.

Been playing with it a couple of weeks now and have finally got to nearly 3.2Ghz (3.195)

hit a couple of walls, main one being not setting the RAM timings manually. holding me at 250FSB or so. after that I was off to 3150GHz or so where Prime started giving errors, and upping th Vcore seems to raise Temps to near 70's. (according to Everest.) So I got a silverstone FM121 and also started using Coretemp.(reads temps at about 4* lower than everest) gave it a rest for a few days. the had another crack at it the past couple of days. finally getting to where I am.
I can taste 3.2GHz. that screen was from about 20 mins ago. gonna set 400FSBx8 with RAM at 400. seems like nice round numbers.

The OC gave a healthy boost in GTA4. one of the games I enjoy. Its great to see an actual boost in performance from your work!

I've been looking forward to this for a long time, and I haven't been disappointed. over clocking this rig has been awesome so far.

I intend to do a suicide run at some point to see how high it'll. go. (I got 3.3 out of an Opty 165 on air, but have a feeling this will go a lot higher.) I can get to 3.8Ghz without pushing the RAM.

Is it possible???? Will i get a super Pi 1Mb if it is??

I gave my Girlfriend my old PC. the ASUS A8n-E went poop so I got an ABIT An8SLI from the bay. But there was no sound module/adaptor. not a problem for me as I use an X-fi gamer. but she would kill me if the sound didn't work. so the sound card went to her. :/ I tried the onboard HD audio on the P5b. and its good, but just didn't quite have what ever the X-fi did. and there was a lot of background noise.
But she did say she would get me a sound card when in a couple of months. Gonna get the Asus Xonar Essence STX. :) I only have sennheiser CX400 II. but it still is noticable. I also have a pair or Wharfdale Modus six 3 way speakers and a 5.1 100W per channel receiver/amp. its not great, but still not to shabby. So i reckon it'll be worth it, and I plan on getting a nice set of cans in the future.

OK this went on longer than i intended. Congrats if you made it this far! I'm gonna set the FSB and leave it to prime for the night, I'll let you know how it goes. I need to sleepppppppp.......zzzzzzzzz

Night one and all.

I have been overclocking that same motherboard the P5B Deluxe WiFi AP for over 5 years now.Happy to report that it is still running great and has justified the high price I paid for it so many years ago I think it was about 260$ Canadian and I don't regret a cent of it:) I have just rebuilt it with a new case, cooling,Cpu,video card and ram. It's my gaming rig and is comparable to my friends sandybridge setups in BF3 which is all I really care about. With this motherboard and good cooling like water and a good Quad Cpu overclock with good 1066 ram you got a cheap fast gaming platform!Invest you'r money in a good video card instead... if the pc is not going to be used for gaming but for rendering and more Cpu demanding tasks you can't beat the latest platforms out there. It's can still be a great setup and you are lucky to have one free!
There is a lot of tips out there for the P5B Deluxe and some bad info also. I can see right of the bat that you'r v-core is too low,the P5B has terrible voltage drop. For 3.2 I recommend 1.45 or 1.46 for the CPU in bios which will show up in CPU-Z as 1.425 or 1.3 if you'r particular m/b has a little less v-droop.Mine will drop to 1.40 under load which is a massive v-droop from 1.46 in the bios. The question is will it run cool enough! Good luck!

66c with a True 120 rev c? Doesn't sound very good...What are your settings for 3.195 again? What vcore are you pumping through it? 1.5 should be the max...
I know that 260 card can get really hot, but still it's kind of worrying.
Edit: I think you're fine...perhaps you can tweak it some more. Check this out: http://hwbot.org/hardware/processor/core_2_e4300_1.8ghz/
If the max reference clock is 425mhz, you're not too far from that already.
